Niobium Oxide Nb2O5 can be completely dissolved after 45 min irradiation in sulphuric acid using the microwave conditions. Nb metal (foil) and NbF5 were both irradiated in the micro- wave oven for 45 min using H2SO4 as acid.

Nb2O5 (Niobium (V) Pentoxide or Niobium Oxide) is used in ceramics, glass, and solid state electrolytes. Nb2O5 is commonly used as an host raw material in making optical materials. It is also used in catalysis applications.

The purity of Niobium (V) Pentoxide (Nb₂O₅) can vary depending on the manufacturer and intended application, but high-purity grades typically range from 99% to 99.999% 5N.
